The Habit That Has Changed Your Life: Discovering the Power of Putting Yourself First

The Life-Changing Power of Intentional Habits


Last night, I had dinner with a fabulous group of smart, accomplished, warm and funny women. It was such a treat. One of the women posed this question to the group: What is one habit that you started that has changed your life?

It was a thought-provoking question for me because how many things do we all do each day without even thinking about them - that's the power of a habit, it's automatic and (hopefully) effective - do any of them really change our life?



" What is one habit that you started that has changed your life?"


As the answers were given, I started to see a pattern among us. The habits that changed our lives were the ones that put our needs first and served the purpose of doing something entirely for ourselves. For me, it's the daily walk I take with my daughter. It is my time alone with her exploring our city and shutting down to all the demands of my day. I love this time with her and am filled with so much gratitude watching her take in the world.
